Hello; Been searching the forums and looking for information on how to remove the blackwater tank in a 1966 Shasta Continental it has the raised toilet just removed that and looking to remove flooring shower pan? Anyways does the tank have to be cut out? Floor under toilet looks to be the tank lid and the iron flange on the tank lid is where the original toilet bolted down. This is a driver side rear bathroom and from the bottom the tank cannot come out as half of it sits above the trailer main structural beam. Was trying to avoid pulling outer skirt skin to remove?

It may be a metal tank. If so, it will need to be replaced. It reminds me of my 57 Deluxe with a raised area for the toilet. That said, the 64 SCS had a fiberglass tank as yours may have.
Photos from under the trailer when you get the time... There may be a way to slip the tank sideways.
Shasta is known for building trailers "around" things and may have installed the tank before the body went on the trailer. Not good...
A very easy way to solve your problem is to do away with the black tank and use a porta potti. There are some nice ones out there. Easy to dump and no nasty sewer hoses.

Definitely a fiberglass tank and could be repaired. IMG_0981 by Todd Fierstos, on Flickr My first inclination was to rip everything out but since just the 45 degree elbow was cracked and the flange could be re-sealed maybe fix the large Black tank fitting and run a separate grey tank for the shower sink since they're already separate below. IMG_0986 by Todd Fierstos, on Flickr Not knocking your idea on a cassette toilet, I am just not a fan. I've had 2 trailers, 1 pop-up and a Lance camper always liked the tank set-up the best. Cassette toilets to me are a hassle versus hooking up a hose and water rinse. Lugging a toilet tank out of the trailer to dump is a hassle to me. Am I missing something here? I could also try and slip it out after getting the top off (floor and tank flange) Photo of my SMAD three way I just installed with a new louvered exterior panel for ease of removal. I added nut-serts and a gasket to the panel so its easily removable the SMAD has the ignitor battery compartment in the back. I didn't want to have to rip the refrigerator out to get to the AA gas ignitor battery. I repaired the hot water heater with a new Atwood 91602 Gas Control Pilot Valve, works like a champ.
