I purchased a 1976 Terry camper from a sweet elderly lady. She did not have the title or much information on it. I am trying to get it titled, but am having trouble deciphering what the serial #/VIN is. I found the following stamped on the passenger side of the tongue rail: PA9481 P011086 S7034. Does anyone out there know if this is the serial# for this model? And if so, does anyone know what it means? I would be interested to find out how Terry formatted their serial numbers to get more info about my trailer.

Hello and Welcome,
Honestly, you could probably use any one of those three alphanumeric strings for a VIN as long as they aren't taken. The DMV just needs to see something embossed on the tongue. If the DMV runs all three and two come up as taken, and the third one isn't taken, you could use that one.
If you have AAA, its great to ask them to run a VIN check and that's the easy way to find out which one you can use as a VIN.
We don't see many Terry's here built in the 70s, so it's hard to answer which on would most likely be the VIN with any consistency unless a member just happens to have a trailer like yours and has a registration with it. Then, I would think you could piece it together as to which one to choose.
Cheers,
Rod
