I was on this forum, had a low liner I repaired. Sold it, said goodbye on the forum. Someone said you will be back. WELL, here I am. I have a1960’s Fireball I bought to bring back from the dark side. I don’t know the exact age, because the PO had the trailer registered in California as a PTI Permanent Trailer Identification. I think it is unusual because it is a dual axle, but the total length is 19’ . The living area is about 16’. will be posting as I go to repair it. Will post pictures after I figure out how. Roger

The Fireball is a great trailer. Hope yours is complete. I have a walk through tour of a 67 single axle on video.

Hey Rodger,I remember you. Welcome back!!
Boy are you lucky to get a 19' trailer registered with a PTI. That saves you huge amount in registration fees over time. Does the registration really match up with the VIN?
😎. Looking forward to pix.

Yes, the fireball is complete, except refrigerator, it is a 115 volt only. It even has the gas lamp, minus the globe. The trailer vin on the tongue matches the California “pink”. I still wonder how the po got it, 16 feet is max length for pti. That was the reason I finally decided to buy it. In CA now, these trailers are pricey, so at least I will save on reg. Fees. It is pretty beat up, but gives me a project for a. Few years, until I head for “the home”. I’m pushing 83. Haha.
I’m using an iPad, anybody know if I can post pics, or do I need to use a laptop?

Some of the people who work there really don't know many of the laws regarding trailers. I've dealt with them a lot. I got a 19 foot Kenskill that had a full bath and kitchen in it PTIed... And I didn't even ask for it. I went down there and they even measured it and looked inside. That's what they gave me so I took it.

Looks like you have a keeper there. How's the inside?

The usual water damaged areas, kitchen window lower corner leak, bathroom window lower corner leak. PO installed an AC, leak around opening, probably there befor AC installed. AC causing roof sag. The interior cabinets and walls are sound, but too much wear, Will need paint. Wood was originally painted, so a new coat is planned. Exterior metal will have to be pulled, as I did with the Low Liner, repair wood as needed. Tires hold air, dot code 0413, good for another 8 years. Haha
The good and bad. PO painted everything on the exterior, including trim and screws. It kept the water out, but now I have a lot of cleanup to do.
The entry door is really jacked up, one of the frame aluminum pieces is missing, and the hole for the doorknob is damaged and window is plexiglas. A project for another day. I will post pics when I start repairs on it.

I’m not sure what to make of this vintage trailer market. After the Lowliner, I bought an Airstream Argosy. Did some painting, a lot of cleanup, new tires, made everything work, new battery. Sold it last summer 4 times what I paid. I put it up for sale, had so many calls in 1 day I cancelled the listing, and raised price $4000 and sold it a week later. CRAZY!!

Flipping trailers is the best way to make money on them. I flip one now and again. I made about $7000 on the 53 Kit. Some I wish I would have kept though. Just bought a 69 Siesta Lo Liner and I think I'm going to restore it. Got it for $500 and it's in very good shape other than the exterior paint. Desert life.

It’s good you can still find them at a reasonable price. Sellers here think they have gold in them. LOL
