Howdy Ya'll!
I've been lurking on here for about six months now and decided to join. I don't have a camper I'm restoring but rather parts of several. I've got lots of pictures to share and many questions to ask. My family cleaned off some of their property they owned and allowed me to have anything I wanted. My grand-parents had a couple old campers down there I got parts off because all of them were in derelict shape. One was a Shasta Compact and the other two I couldn't find any info about as I found nothing on the outside and going inside was dangerous. Unfortunately, the Shasta wasn't saved as we couldn't give it away for free. but I did pull several parts off of it as I know people are looking for them. Another one was crushed by trees that grew around it and this thing was old, as it still had some original back in the day Armstrong Rhino Flex white wall bias plys on it. I'm forty years old and thing was parked in the same place the entire time I've been alive. You can see one of the tires in my avatar, these tires are cool. Believe it or not they still hold air but are severely dry rotted and I've dated the baby moons to 1950-1951. A friend of mine and I pulled the frame out from underneath this one as I would like to convert it to a utility trailer. The camper couldn't be saved but the frame is useable and I don't like to throw away things so I figure it would be fun to convert this. My grand-parents grew up during the Depression so they didn't ever throw anything away. I've been bitten by that bug but not to the extreme as they were. I wasn't able to identify it but maybe someone on here might be able to do so when I post pictures. Heck the ball hitch socket is so old I've never seen one like it. The spring shackles have greaseable bushings, wow. Anyway, hello to everyone and I hope ya'll have a good day.
