I have a 1957 Pathfinder that looks like it has been at the least touched up exterior paint if not totally repainted over the years. I want to find out what the original color was so in order to get down to that base color do you recommend just taking something like a palm sander or would it be easier to take some actual paint stripper in a small area to try and find the original base color? I am just trying you see what the original color was at this point, I'm not looking at stripping the whole camper. Thanks.

You could try sanding thru the layers. Depends on the type of paints that were used over the years...
