Hi I just bought a 64 Fleetcraft. The camper part is about 14ft. It is as you call "gutted" and is a rolling frame of sorts. (I just read your newb comments on the dreaded gutted) I bought it for 100$.
My question is, can I fabricate J-rail? Or endcaps? I have free access to a metal shop, a bender, and a lot of other stuff. Most of the metal I have seen seems too thick, and some of the aluminum sheets are colored and have plastic peel coat that protects the color. The trailer doesn't have any sides or metal on, so I don't have anything in my possession to really look at. But I have been looking here at some images.

I buy my jrail from Hemet Valley RV. If you need new skin, buy it all at once to reduce shipping costs. Not cheap.

Could anyone please advise me on what gauge the j-rail is?
I was able to view some jrail drip rail moldings but they were not vintage camper specific.

Hi- and thank you for your reply. The camper isn't as much a "shell" or gutted as I originally replied. But what is there will need to be updated. Structurally the parts are there but are missing doors on the cabinets and closets. After viewing a large portion of your youtube videos I can now see the importance.

Yes that's right. The cabinets are what hold the trailer together along with the wrap connections. When the paneling is ripped from the inside the structural integrity has been damaged.

Hello and welcome.
I appreciate your stamina to forge ahead. J rails and other trim I hear is hard to come by due to covid 19 and its impact down the supply chain. Try some of the teardrop trailer supply websites, but they may be out also.
Good luck in your project. You are in the right place. Can we see some pix?
