Greetings all, does anybody know where I might find photos or postcards of trailer dealerships? Hoping to find photos from the '70's primarily. I've been looking, but haven't found anything yet other than some campground photos. Let me know, thanks!

There were a lot of RV dealers around in the 70s. Look around near you for any that might have been open then. Call and ask, it’s possible that there might be some in the back of a closet somewhere. Good luck!

I'm going to move this to get more views. We can always move it back if there's good information. Or (hopefully) some cool ads. There was a guy named Neil Vonada who was good friends with one of the main Aristocrat and trailer designers. I was lucky enough to meet him before he passed. Neil had some neat old stickers that said "VONS" trailer sales (from his own business) that he shared with me. They had even taken trailers to Hawaii at one time. The friend's was named I B "Irv" Perch (Perlitch)...there is info online. Here's a blog on the two men: www.freewebs.com/aristocrattrailer/history.htm

Go on Facebook and search for trailer names - Shasta, Airstream, Holiday House.... etc.. You may need to join the group. Browse through the photos. Here are a couple for you :-)

Thank you for the information, it's been really tough finding ANY photos out there. Car dealerships, no problem, but trailers and RV's? You'd think they never existed! Their have to be some somewhere. I actually own a book of photos of gas station and car dealership photographs and postcards, wish there were one like that of trailer dealers!

I could not find anything about Friendship Vacationaire trailers until fellow Wisconsinite Martha (a VTT member) contacted me to connect about her Friendship restoration. She had contacted the historical society of Friendship, Wisconsin to find that they had a whole file of cool stuff. So, if you can find where the trailers were made, try looking for a local historical society there.
