Hi all. My name is Denise Boyle and my husband and I bought a 1970 Aristocrat Lo-Liner in 2004. We are the third owners. The trailer was in good condition overall with some water damage and some dings and dents that we've added to over the years (mostly due to inexperience or impatience). The PO had changed the window coverings and added carpet but otherwise it was original. I added my own curtains, slipcovered the cushions and called it a day. At some point my husband got frustrated with the Monomatic Toilet and trashed it, and we removed the rock guard because it was broken (I thankfully still have the frame, just not the brackets). Fast forward 16 years and I'm finally looking for a good pandemic project. I've have wanted to repair the damage and update the interior from the faux-wood wallpaper look that is so 1970's for years. In August I started doing some research, fund this site, bought Vix's book, joined Mobiltec's Patreon and watched hours and hours of YouTube videos, read hundreds of blog posts, looked at thousands of images on Instagram and more. I soon realized I was probably staring down a total rebuild. I looked at my options to purchase another trailer vs. fix what we already own and realized that I really like the layout of the Aristocrat and I'm willing to put the blood/sweat/tears/cash necessary into doing this correctly. I'm pretty handy and very willing to learn and my husband is very handy so I struggle and slog through and then on the weekends get his help on anything I couldn't figure out . We own a small True Value hardware store, so I'm hoping to be able to use our connections for at least some of what I'll need. I started earlier this month photographing, measuring and journaling my progress. Yesterday we were able to remove the final aluminum skins. I have so many questions, so I thought it was time to introduce ourselves and our trailer. My daughters named it "Rosie" years ago. They're now 15 and 22! Looking forward to the adventure ahead and very grateful to people willing to share their hard-earned knowledge. Thanks!
