First, thanks to those who provided us with pictures and measurements for our Compact’s kitchen upper cabinets. We will be using a door panel piece of birch for the face now that we know what it’s supposed to look like. We are wondering if these were glued or nailed onto the frame, or both. Any thoughts?

Glued and nailed. I used Gorilla Glue (clamp and let it dry first) and some tasteful brass nails to attach. The nails have really cool heads and add to the vintage look. You wont need any if you don't want, the glue holds pretty well. I've done them with and without nails.
If you do decide to use decorative nails, predrill. It makes it easier to drive the nail without damage to the cabinet.

Thanks vikx! That’s what we did when we built the cabinet 11 years ago and didn’t have the design. There are so many ways to do things wrong, it’s nice to know we did this right the first time. Now I just have to order some gimp for around the edges and by the time hubby has the new face ready to go, the gimp should be here. One step closer to a road trip!

If it lasted 11 years, you did it right. LOL
