I have a spot underneath one of my front seats on the wall that has some mold through the varnish / finish. The wood is not rotten or soft to the touch so I thought about just trying some wood bleach to see what it does to the mold. I know all about lifting the skins if I want to replace the Birch paneling but I am not going that route as of now. I just want to try this out and see what it does. Has anyone used wood bleach and if so have any tips on how to properly apply at? Thanks.

You have to get to raw wood for the bleach to work. Paint on, let sit, clean according to instructions. You might have to repeat the process several times.

I definitely plan on sanding the wood first. Just wondering if anyone has used this product before. Thanks

There's a lot of products that bleach wood. Which one were you talking about?
I use good quality deck cleaner.

I used Barkeeper's Friend, which is an oxalic acid cleaner. I made it into a paste, spread it over the area after I sanded, let it sit, then rinsed with a wet rag careful not to use too much water. I vacuumed the area several times, used a small brush as well to get rid of any oxalic acid powder that may have been left behind. Finished by wiping with denatured alcohol or mineral spirits, can't remember which. It worked very well, not perfect, but close.
