What is on the other side on the interior?
I think the galley is right there in a compact, right?
They might be used to cover gashes or holes. Both seem oddly placed there.
I am sure you will get more guesses.

I’m guessing the top one is a vent for the stove.. our ham style Compact didn’t have one, but the newer ones did, although I haven’t seen one like this before. The bottom one has skin behind it, so maybe it’s been used as a way to attach something to the outside of the trailer when it’s at a campground?

The top one is likely a side vent for a vent hood.

The inside of the trailer was gutted by the PO Traditionally the stove would have been right inside the door where these two things are located. Makes sense the top one is for a vent hood. We were not planning on adding a vent hood, are they really necessary? We will be putting the gas stove back into that same position. The lower hole is just temporarily covered with some plywood while we rebuild/reconstruct the interior, if it is not a necessary component what suggestions might there be for permanently covering this up?

the one in my trailer (vent hood) has a passive vent right at that location. I guess the thinking is that rising steam/smoke will find its way out there.

The vent also ads air when burning propane. I would definitely re-install.

The lower one may have been a heater vent, and the upper is definitely the stove hood vent.

The lower one may have been a heater vent, and the upper is definitely the stove hood vent. That is correct. Bottom one was the vent for a factory installed heater (optional). Mine had the hole as well, but they used part of the "flue cap" to cover it flat. Top on is a non-powered vent for the range hood.

When we got our Shasta my wife thought the hood vent was a mailbox. Hehe. I love that girl.
