It's expensive, just wondering if it actually works.

Personally, if you only needed 110v, id get a junker dorm fridge and take out the element. Maybe even an old 12/100 dometic?

I like the look of the original icebox. Have seen at least one thread where someone managed to get the original icebox door onto the front of a new dorm fridge - but this converter seems to be an easier, if much more expensive, solution. Just curious if anyone has tried it.

I looked closely at them. My original icebox is missing, and I'd planned on finding a vintage icebox and fitting one of these. Not only are they not particularly cheap, the cooling elements wouldn't fit inside the iceboxes that would fit my trailer, so I had to find an alternative. This 110v dorm fridge cost me $75, and I rolled the savings towards a 200ah LiFePO4 battery and 350w of flexible solar panels to run the thing. A 12v refrigerator would have been more efficient without the need to run through an inverter, but given the difference in price I could afford to significantly bump up the battery and solar panels, which more than makes up the difference.

It's a good option if you have the ventilation and chimney. Some of us don't like cutting holes in our trailers if they don't aleady have them...
