I had always planned on painting my 61 compact with a glossy white on the top and a ballet slipper pink on the bottom. But in looking at automotive colors I see a pearlized pink! Maybe that with a pearly white top? Will it look ridiculous? Have you seen it done? What did you think?

Done right it will look good.
The right part is the tough thing. Not many painters can apply it correctly. Its very sensitive to variables including but not limited to weather and even how you hold the gun.
Im being serious here, take your paint budget and triple it, including labor.
