Has anyone disassembled any Jalhousie windows like these? This is the rear view. They have a built in square eyebrow at the top. I just want to understand how to disassemble them, or if there is anything else I should know as I take them apart? They seem to have a gasket that is folded in half into a U-shape Plus a flat gasket at the top. I need to know where to order the replacement gaskets and I also do not see any “pads” people have mentioned? Am I missing something here? The U shaped gasket View from rear of window Rear view of whole window Flat gasket from the top front of window

Take a look at the gasket reference material offered by this vendor:

I have a few of these windows. Your gaskets still look soft so don't destroy them until you're sure the new ones will fit...

Mildish soap-don't use Oil Eater or strong degreasers... I was going to use totally awesome cleaner on the frames before I use the acid and polish. Is that a mistake? Should I just use dawn dish soap or something like that?

Frames will take the wheel cleaner acid but sparingly on the seals. I don't know Totally Awesome.

Many of these soaps and degreasers have trace amount of ammonia in them, which will case deterioration over time in the rubber of these seals. The best thing to use is unscented soap and water or EPDM compliant rubber gasket cleaner.
This is the same principal why you should not use soap to check for leaks on brass fittings in a LP systems and why there are specific leak detectors for testing brass and copper.
