Another of my winter experiments you may find interesting. Vintagetrailersupply.com sells a nice replacement drip cap. Unfortunately it comes in white and it’s not easy to get off with paint stripper. I tried it once and it took WAY too long. Recently I noticed a video on removing the paint in minutes with a torch. Yes, a torch on thin aluminum. I tried it. Heat the aluminum very hot until the paint starts to powder.
It only takes a few minutes after which take it to a sink and instantly rub off the powder with a scotch guard sponge. It came off easily. Then I wondered if it would work with leftover Hemet Valley RV skin used to make things like door trim. Let’s say after you bend it some Factory white is showing. ![](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49570629858_e1e9595936_3k.jpg) Done!
