Well it is a replica of my 59 Lakewood. The upper cabinets are exact even with mirror and the wardrobe. I have had pictures sent of a 58 and a 59 from other people selling them. One is an exact match with the same formica as mine, but different from this one and the other I think had this pattern it was the 58. the only others I have seen is like a 52 and much longer model. If you want to message me your email I can probably forward the pictures I got. I'm going with 58 because of the lack of the quilted metal skin door which the 59 does have.

My door isn't quilted but has a nice design on it. It is like a sun rays going up from the bottom. But his has the heater that is the same as a 58 that was on ebay. Of course guess those could have been added to any year if wanted.

I would really suggest you grab it. I know there have been many voices saying no title, no takey, but this is an nicely shaped ham... it's a rebuilder no doubt, but not over the head of anyone with basic survival skills. I think it deserves it, even if has to spend it's glory days as a long long long term week-end project. I agree with Larry that going to the owner with $200-$300 should be a realistic offer. You may be surprised when they accept, and with what the value of taking on the project will give you as payback, however long it takes might just make it worth it... few things worthwhile are easy, but make em fun and they get easier. Isn't this madness all about fun?

You might also look on the side of the frame rail up near the coupler on the curb side. Those numbers you found could be an owners identifier of some type.

Yes it could have been part of a rental fleet or something. There must be at least five numerical digits in the VIN. Use paint stripper first before going with any abrasives. Some times the numbers aren't stamped very deep. Probably filled with paint.

Since I have not purchased this trailer yet and won't until the owner gets a title for it, I have passed along to them all the advice and info I have learned from this great bunch of vintage trailer enthusiasts here. This couple lives off the grid in a hunting cabin and needs a new water pump for their well. They are trying to sell something(trailer) in order to pay for the new pump. They tell me they have an offer for $300 without providing a title with the sale, only a bill of sale but they still haven't sold it to this buyer. They are trying to get as much $ out of it as possible which I can't blame them for. They think they can take it to So. California and get "a mint" for it, costing them $ to even get it there(if it even makes it) that they will most likely not recoup. As you all know condition is everything when it comes to the value of these vintage trailers. It will need the entire front rebuilt and the rear and roof will need some rebuilding as evident by the water damage. The water tank, gaslight, and dinette benches are all missing and the table is not salvageable. Some of the exterior skin will need to be replaced too. So I offered them $300 when they get the title. We'll see what happens but I don't expect to hear from them. It's funny how some people think their neglected vintage trailers are worth "a mint" when they haven't done the research to know what they are really worth or how much work is involved in bring them back to working condition. I continue to look for one that will work for me and not have so much risk(no title). Thank you for all your help and advice. I have learned so much already from ya'all. I will let you all know what I find in my search for a vintage trailer. Maybe if I'm lucky it will be this Lakewood.

Calif. is sticky for titles. Heck, they want back fees of $600 on a 200 dollar trailer! So, without a title, it's not worth anything in So Cal. I hope they don't do that trip and good luck to you.

I found a 1969 Jet for sale. Anyone have experience working on a Jet or know much about them? I only have 3 pics, hopefully I can get more from the seller. It's about 1 hr. and 20 min. drive to see it.

Seller is asking $600 or trade for a snowmobile. I don't have snowmobile to trade. This one has a title! Here's one more photo.

Very good that it has a title.... The title is worth $300 alone. The trailer has to be worth at least another $300 if it's not a total rebuild. Check for water damage in the ceiling, under all the windows and at the bottom of the door. Check the floor for solid under the vent and in front of the door.

There's a lot of talk about getting a title in California. Is the first trailer IN California? Or is it near you in Utah? What are Utah's requirements for getting a title? Mobiltec is correct that it's good that the '69 has a title, and yes, that is worth a few hundred bucks. But the visual difference between early and late '60s trailers (by most manufacturers) is quite striking. That's not a bad thing, and some folks here have restored their late 60s (and even a few early 70s) models using birch for the interior, and they look fabulous. Just be aware that if you're looking to resell in a couple years, the older ones will bring a better return on your "investment."
Either way, the more you look at the more you'll know what you want. Best of luck and have fun in your hunt!
