I've been (way) off the grid for a few weeks. Glacier was great. Every trip has a low point. This private campground the ND was mess. We're leaving Wall SD today heading east.

It has been a long time since I was in Glacier National Park but it has always been my favorite. I think it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

First trip we took in our li'l camper (teardrop style) was Glacier NP. Went in the fall, mid September if I remember correctly, of 2013. Loved it! Saw lots of grizzlies! Beautiful country.

Anyone interested in Glacier should check out Two Medicine campground. First come first serve. It’s best to get there between 8 AM and 10 AM in the morning. It has great hiking trails.

We made it home safe and sound. 6100 miles. Most sites with no hookups. Glacier, the Tetons, and smaller roads instead of the interstate so we could see the real west.
I drove out most of the way on my own. My wife got a month off work and I didn't want to waste the time crossing the "fly over states". No offense intended. We stopped at Wall Drug on the way back... Campy fun but the mosquitoes in Wall were murder. I've spent 6 months in Haiti so I know bugs but this was worse.
We also stopped at the Pioneer Auto Museum in South Dakota . Not much on the outside but inside were 8 buildings loaded with great stuff. My wife had to fly home for work from Sioux City. I drove from there to RV museum in Ekart Indiana (631 miles) in one day. I arrived at 10pm to find other people camping overnight in the parking lot so I joined them.
A lot of 1930s campers on display this month. A couple of my favorites. While passing through Ohio I came upon the Airstream factory. They were offering tours but no photos of the plant allowed. It was a lot of fun. It was a great trip but it takes a week towing 400 miles a day each way.Ugg!
Our 1962 Forester was ones again 100% reliable.
We looked everywhere for vintage campers as we traveled and didn't see much worth photographing. Too wet in the Northwest to find many survivors.
We're headed to Maine next month but I may be in Haiti for a week before then.

Love the pix, NC!
Wonder what the yellow Shasta is? Maybe a 1400? Different window in the back than mine and no dinette windows=no leaks. Yay.
The boy in the Airstream photo looks like a mannequin. Was he?

Some more photos of the 54 Shasta.
The kid was real. The age where they always look frozen with boredom.

Interesting differences in Butch Cassidy (my 57) and the 54. Lots of similarities as well. Butch has the little removable tank in the kitchen cupboard for water and it dribbles down into the sink with a push button spigot. Bunk is the same, front the same and Butch has a Princess stove with an oven.
Larry's right, beautiful 54. Pristine.

I moved the thread.
Anybody driving across the country should download the Ultimate US Public Campground Project app. It's a lifesaver when you're wandering without reservations. We found a place every night with it. Like this one in the Black Hills.
