Has anyone seen a license illuminator like this? I have searched and cannot find data on how to get the thing open to change the bulb and generally clean it up. I'm pretty sure the wire's shot going to it as well.
thanks

I think the part in your fingers just snaps out of the lens assembly. Try inserting a flat screwdriver between the flange and the lens assembly. the flange just above your fingers.

Yeah doesnt seem to do it. I tried a little oil and even tried to open the space with a blade, but no go. It's cute, but may just need to update it. Although it is still working and pretty bright with my power tool battery, not seen here, and I could just use it until it burns out, I guess.
thanks

Yes, thanks. After my last post I went looking online and VTS has the bulb I first showed as a single-sale item for use as a stairstep illuminator Somebody shoved one of those in there I see. They also sell a little rebuild socket for these, 7 bucks. I will get one of those and rebuild the thing...thanks.

Good to know on the socket kit. Auto parts stores sell those illuminators pretty cheap as well.
