Hi Friends,
What are your thoughts on using a clear coat to cover finished windows? Eastwood sells a satin clear coat that is designed for bare metal or polished metals. From poking around the questions, the gloss is more for painted surfaces and the satin for bare metal surfaces. My interpretation was that this could be used on aluminum window frames on our trailers instead of waxing the frames as is the usual to inhibit oxidation after cleaning.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Rod

I think it's a quick fix and not worthy of a nicely restored window. Clear coat will peel eventually.

So, after cleaning the window frames, we are to wax them prior to installation? If so, wirh what?

Any good quality wax will do. It really helps keep them clean and easier to polish next year...
