My ‘61 Shasta Compact has the typical 3/4” framing. I used two layers of 3/8” plywood for my curbing/edge boards with each layer fastened with crown staples. They feel solid, but I’m sure that the crown staples won’t hold up to the stresses of towing. What other fastener should I use on the curbing? 1-1/2” ring shank nails? Screws? Something else?
Thanks!

I glued and stapled mine using 1/4" ACX plywood strips, 1" x 1/4" crown staples, and waterproof yellow wood glue. Sounds like what you did is comparable to how it was fastened from the factory. I'd think you'd be fine.

I glue and brad mine then clamp. Any iffy areas I use trim screws, usually 1 5/8. They will bury the head if pre-drilled, so are ideal in this area.

Ditto here on the 1” staples and glue. But I used 1/8” ply. Also hit entire radius with belt sander to blend any high spots.
