Ours definitely required a bit of scraping, but the scratching away of layers of paint revealed the number we needed. Here is a look at the revealed numbers.
We think, but have no actual confirmation yet, that we have a Shasta 16SC, but not sure of the year. We'd love to contribute to your database.
Here's what the paint scraping revealed: D4S 16491 FA 1971
As of right now, we don't know what/who/how that number is catalogued..... or even how to go about registering. We do have a bill of sale. At some point, I'll have to take the time to learn more about what to do next to get her legal.

:)She's cute! Are you near me? I'm in south OC. We are in Santa Monica. Not too far! But we picked up the camper from a car dealership in Santa Ana.

Interesting quilt pattern on your front. Welcome. That quilt pattern certainly threw me off while researching models, and trying to figure out what I had here. There was no paperwork, so we were basing it off of google image searches and other models found on this forum. And I haven't seen any pictures that show that quilt pattern on the front. I'm inclined to think it was added later. I'm sure we'll learn more once we start pulling her apart and putting her back together. I finally determined that we had a 16SC b/c of the residual frame work from a torn out bathroom in the back right corner. And that model was only built from 61-64.... so I know she is from one of those years. Thanks for the warm welcome from all of you.

Hi friends! My dude and I brought this ugly girl home a couple of weeks ago and we are in love with the possibilities. Besides the much needed exterior refurbish - our desire is to replace her gutted interior with all new flooring, structural framework, and cabinetry. We are doing a ton of research now and have found great comfort in reading the many posts from folks here on this forum! He's brains and the brawn when it comes to the renovation. But, I'll be daydreaming about the interior and blogging about gypsy camping lifestyle along the way on our website vintageshastacamper.com/See before pics and see what we're up to here. vintageshastacamper.com/blog/Thanks for having us!
