I took apart my gas light to repaint- and I cannot figure out how the ceramic nose fits with the metal 'spring'. I am assuming the metal spring holds the mantel in- but can someone show me how the end piece sits? It seems wonky the way I put it back together. Thanks :} IMG_3415 by kathy, on Flickr

Haven't seen the spring before. Are you sure the on/off lever is in the right place?
