Go to login.proboards.com/account/settings then choose "Export Member Data". (The little gear icon at the bottom right of the screen is also a link to account settings.) From the pull-down menu, choose the forum you want to backup. Proboards will email you a link to download your posts and PMs. The files are in .csv format. The saved posts can easily be copied from this file and pasted in a new post with the same layout as previously posted. EDIT: You should receive two separate emails, one for PMs and one for Posts. |

Do you know if the export includes bookmarks? I don't think it would, but just checking.

This is great!!! wish I'd known before I sent all those move to VTT messages last night.
I just updated my whole rebuild thread in about 30 minutes!! not bad. Well the comments from others are missing, but I'm going to try to fill those in....and need to replace a few random bad photobucket links but otherwise pretty smooth. Highly recommend folks taking this route.

I did this, and only got PMs, no forum posts... Thankfully I copied my rebuild thread, but when i went to copy my furnace teardown thread, it was gone.

Unsure why you only received your PMs. You should receive two separate emails, one for PMs and one for Posts. Being as you have several hundred post maybe it is taking a bit longer to generate the file to be mailed. I'll search and see if I can find any info on the issue. |

Being old and having little experience with Excel, I found it easier to drag-select each page of the old forum thread, and copy and paste it into a text file. It also captured the filenames of all my pics, making it easy to know which pics go with the posts. Just another alternative...

Is there a method for saving a specific thread? Was this only for the transition from the old Shasta forum and doesn't apply to current VTT posts?
