Put a new on demand 12v pump in my new system and filled tank and checked it all out today. All (almost) is well and the pump works great. My question is: Do you ever put a switch on the pump circuit to keep it off when on the road? Maybe over worrying this but if something were to break or a valve wiggle open while moving seems the pump would activate and empty the tank, at best out on the highway, or worst on the floor. Just wondering. Thanks.

Absolutely! You always need a switch... wonder how I know this??? I use RV switches with a chrome plate. Easy to install and the plate anchors the switch well. You can put it close to the pump or run wires up to the sink area. PM me for email address if you need photos. It's really pretty straight forward.

Yes...Vikx is correct. My newer truck camper has the switch located on the face of the sink cabinet. Although the switch can remain in the on position with a good sealed up plumbing system, we have gotten into the habit of turning it on and off as we need faucet water. Kind of paranoid about a leak occurring I guess. Just hear too many horror stories about internal plumbing leaks!

I filled an entire truck camper with water one time... the pump ground was iffy and turned itself on and off at will...
