Well, it comes as no surprise that my spring/summer project is no where near complete. Now I need to get this back together enough to be safe for a one-hour road trip to winter storage. What is my path of least resistance? Do I need to put all the windows back in? What about rail cap? Can I leave that off as long as I staple the metal to the top frame? Is it a dumb question to ask if I can tow it without one of the ceiling panels? Thanks and boy I hate to see this go away for 6 months :-( NewWhiteRearPanels

If you are able to leave it where it is, I'd just build a 1"x 3" roof with a couple of good quality tarps over it and hope that there may be a few days over the winter when you'll be able to work on it. Something like this.

^ I'd really love to but we need it out of the driveway for plowing reasons. And I think my better half is tired of looking at it and having it hanging over our heads!

I would put the windows in with a few screws, that'll help the integrity. The J rail doesn't have to be on but attach everything you can with cross boards and anchor securely. Towing like that should be slow and easy. Be sure you protect the trailer from critters and bird debris if you store it in a barn...

Thank Vikx. Do you think it would be OK to leave the metal roof off?

Roof off, but BE CAREFUL... You don't want the wind to whip in there and tear things apart. I would wrap it tightly with a tarp, maybe straps around the body, too.

A place down the road heat shrinks boats for winter storage. Has anyone ever tried this? I will use mine in the winter because I hate summer but didn't know if anyone has tried the heat shrink. I would be afraid of mildew unless you used something like rid out.

Talk to the boat shrink folks. Surely, they understand condensation and mildew...
