At local Hirschfield's paint supply, the guy recommended Dad's paint stripper for my combination of latex house paint (I think!) and original finish, along with various left over unscrape-able goop, for our '72 Red Dale. Sadly, what I have tried so far has barely budged the latex. Just want to be sure that using this on my aluminum skin won't be an issue. Reviews on Amazon for everyone refinishing wood, boats, cars are all pretty positive, although it sounds pretty caustic.

People use Jasco on their skins and that is nasty stuff. Probably the same composition...

A lot of the Amazon reviews are from people who have given up on Jasco and use this.

That's a pretty stout price, but if it works maybe worth it. I've tried Jasco and several aircraft finish strippers with no results on the white paint on my camper, but I can scrub it off with acetone, steel wool and a lot of elbow grease. Maybe I'll invest in a quart and see how it does

I use Dad's. It is potent stuff, will burn your skin if you come in contact with it, very caustic. Works great, does not harm the aluminum. Never used it with latex house paint so I cannot comment on how it works with that. It's the one I reach for if it is on the shelf. It even melts that rock hard dark gray caulking that was used back in the day.

Dan, I am going to paint again however the existing paint is flaking and I'm planning a polished design down the sides and just don't trust the existing paint to be a good base.

Rin Tin- did a test spray yesterday and the latex bubbled up immediately. And it IS caustic stuff. I was outside, so thought, ah, I don't need a respirator. the slightest mist spray blew back into my nose! It still hurts! If you read the warning it says that inhaling it can decrease your bloods ability to carry oxygen!! YIKES. I'll be using that for only THE MOST difficult spots and trying some other options for the less textured areas.

I don't use the sprayer but pour it into a container and brush it on with a disposable chip brush.
