I found "nail plates" at lowes but they were very stiff and no way would staples go through them. What are these thinner plates called and where do I find them? Thanks! NailPlate by Sharon MacDonald, on Flickr

On my campers it's been pieces of skin used to bridge a curved point in the framing mostly near windows. Every now and then I've seen them used on smaller framing pieces near wheel wells.

I ran into those over the weekend. I am probably wrong but assumed they are safety straps. I reattached mine since most were just hanging by one end because the other end the wood had rotted away.

Those are a bit too stiff for what we normally use them for. Here's a couple of HUGE examples... It's just metal skin.

What's on your cat's head? It's actually in the background. It's a masquerade mask hahaha. I just noticed that.

I knew you used extra metal you had lying around but I don't have any unused metal. Should I check scrapyards? Maybe the exhaust materials section of HD? I feel like this shouldn't be that difficult!

You can buy aluminum sheet metal in small quantities at HD and ACE. Probably other places as well. Or you can go to an Air Conditioning company who makes their own parts and most do. As them for scrap.

Lowes or Home Depot will carry rolls of roof flashing. It's cheap and does the job well.
