If you put a piece of wax paper under the clamps it prevents them from sticking if you happen to get glue on them. and the wax paper will sand off if it sticks but it usually doesn't.

Thanks for the advice on how to cut the paneling, I was wondering about that since the veneer is so thin. Does a jigsaw cut it ok? I just bought my jigsaw the other day and I haven't actually tried it out yet! I guess maybe I should practice on some crappy wood first so I don't ruin something. I'm planning to use a skill saw for the longer cuts, but I was thinking I would need the jigsaw for the little cut out pieces in the closet and the shelves.

No you need to use a skill saw Jannica. Go watch some of my videos and see how paneling is cut. My website has descriptions of each video to make it easier to find the one you want.

Also make sure you have to proper blade for what you are cutting. Makes all the difference in the world.

I have made a change of plans. I bought birch veneer to go over my closet wood and shelves. I think it will work great as long as I can get it to lay down smoothly. We shall see!

That may work out just fine for ya. What's the worst that could happen? Have to remove it or sand it down and place 1/8 inch over it? Just do one to completion and see how it works out. And please take photos and let us know.

Ok I will! I think I may try out one of the cabinet drawers tomorrow since it's small so there's less room for error. I will definitely take pictures and share.

Source for 1/8 Birch plywood, Hood Distribution. Fourteen locations: Hattiesburg MS; Mobile, Al; Memphis, TN; Nashville, TN; Ayer, MA; Delray Beach, FL; Highpoint, NC; Jacksonville, FL; Manchester, CT; Milton, VT; Orlando, FL; Raleigh, NC; Greenville, SC; Tucson, AZ
These are all stocking warehouses. The plywood is all American made. They also stock some foreign manufactured but the color, grain and quality is not as nice. The price as I recall is about $18.50 a 4x8 sheet here in Tucson.

Came through Mobile last week I will be going to Hattiesburg, MS in a few days. I may have to rent a trailer to take some home. Can you buy it directly from the warehouse? I'm about to go a googling. I do not see Hattiesburg, MS listed. Found it and added it to links: www.hooddistribution.com/

Good link, they are less than 20 miles from me here in NC., and they were founded here as well. I don't need any Birch, but it's good to know where they are when I do. Thanks for the intell.

Did you end up ordering from Hood, or using the 1/4 inch on the sides? I have a source for 1/8 bending on the top... but I think it might be a little too flimsy for the sides (it's not as stout as true 1/8). My local Home Depot has 1/4 (really 3/16)... so I was thinking of using that to replace my ends side pieces, and my vent piece in the roof.... .and using the 1/8 on the end curves. Thanks, Brian

Thanks, Brian I ended up using 1/4" for my ceiling and back panel. I kerfed it to get it to bend. But when I measured the thickness on the existing side panels on my trailer, they actually measured 3/16. I kept most of my original side panels.

Yeah, I think mine are between 1/8 and 3/16th... and I can easily get 3/16 birch that looks good (made in the US). The 1/8 bending board that i ordered from HD seems to look good, and holds up with a couple coats of shellac... but I want a little more strength in the side wall ends that I'm replacing. Thanks for the help. Brian
