I was looking on the HemetvalleyRV site site to get an idea of what siding I might need for my 68 Shasta this upcoming winter, when I start making repairs, but I can't tell which is similer to mine. Im thinking maybe the 1" Mesa Deluxe looks the closest. Are all of the 60's Shastas the same, as far as siding used? I found an older video that Mobiltec did with them at thier factory about 5 years ago, and cost was about $4 sf then. Any idea what it is now? I also imaging shipping must be a up their too. I probably won't start dismantling until late October, after I can get as much camping in as possible, but I'd like to order my materials now I see they also sell siding called 3" Run and 4" Run, but where I have that same pattern, mine is 5"

Not sure what Your siding would be called. My camper is 12 foot at the longest placing of the shell, not including the hitch. The price of the roofing and siding was $2008.00 and that included shipping into Montana, which they said was higher because of the way of the shipping companies and the routing it had to go through. I think the shipping was at $400.00.

Thanks for that info, Marty. I knew it would be expensive. I don't need to replace everthing, just a few spots where it's dented, and the entire bottom stripe area (another unknown pattern) Here are a few photos of the pattern 20170804_221428 by Bill, on Flickr 20170622_170452 by Bill, on Flickr I also need to find the name of the pattern of the gold in this photo. I didnt see anything like it on their website 20170707_132732 by Bill, on Flickr

There is a reference name for the pattern in the white portion, and it seems like I picked it up off from Hemet Valley's vids on their site, or in one of mobiltec's vids from the plant. Damned if I can remember what it is though. That cross-hatched pattern in the gold stripe trim is a common pattern amongst manufacturers, but I still don't know what that is called either. I guess I am of no help at all and just wasted 45 seconds of your time reading this....

When in doubt, email Steve and Hemet Valley with a photo. I had a 4" break with a design element that nobody (steve included) could match so I went with a standard 4" break. But I was replacing all the skin. For the aluminum under my front window I needed a bend nobody would do so I rented a hand break from Home Depot tool rentals. I sent an email to Hemet valley rv with a few different photos, so hopefully they have the pattern. When I hear back, I'll post here what they tell me, and maybe it will be helpfull to others

Well, I heard back from them today. Not very helpful at all. Blame it on being Monday? Maybe I should have waited until mid week to contact them. Not a word about what my siding is called or if they carry it, I was just told (in as few words as possible)they don't carry the pattern I need for lower part of my camper (see photo of gold area above) and I also asked about and attached a photo in the email of the molding pieces needed to help hold that lower aluminium in place and was told to check their website. It looks like VTS carry the molding (called roof edge molding) but it's not in stock
Does anyone have an idea where I might find that pattern shown in above post, of that gold area? I may have to just go with something similar if no one is reproducing it

Look up patterned aluminum (sheet) and you may find something close. The criss cross pattern has been available from time to time, but haven't seen it lately. Stucco might work, it's sort of pebbley..
I can't deal with Hemet because the go to guy (Steve) won't accept emails. He says, "call me". Well, I can't hear on these cell phones, so that's out... nobody is very helpful there, at least not for me.
Stay away from diamond plate. I don't like it and it's too thick. Just me.

At least it's not only me that feels like Hemet could use a lesson or two in customer service. I have found some diamond patterns, like This One but max length is 48". I really wanted one piece, not 3, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess 😊 I'm not sure how many vintage campers use the pattern Im looking for, but I would think quite a few, and to make a dye or whatever is needed to form this pattern would be beneficial to a company to make this in 12" wide rolls. I agree with not using diamond plate, that stuff looks awful. I have until march or april to find the correct pattern, so maybe by then, someone will be reproducing it

I always think of geological land forms and go through a load of them before I remember..

The price of the siding itself isn't bad. 3 -4x8 sheets for under $325. Unfortunately, it's almost $400 to ship them 😡
