We picked up our trailer today! We think it's a 1971 Scotty Highlander. We need to find the vin and marking that dates it. I am both ecstatic and terrified. It was less than 2 miles from my home on back roads and we got it home without any trouble. We hauled out all the junk. We will be rebuilding most of it. Can't wait to get started!

2 miles from home? I've never heard of somebody finding one closer.
Enjoy!

We could not believe it when we found it. My husband was on a back road because of a detour, and spotted it. The owner was happy for us to take it. He pulled it out of its spot to check it out and we decided bring it home right then and there. It's a mess. But we can see it finished. The hardest part is remembering we promised each other we would finish up our list of house projects before we started this one. But at least it is ours and home! Vintage campers are all over. Just have to keep looking! I don't think it has really taken off here in CT, at least in my circles. Our family and friends think we are nuts, except our grandkids, they are excited. Hope to camp in it next season. I will post pics.

Note the prize under the gaucho, her original awning! tag in place. we did not even move it yet, want to be sure we are careful with it. hopefully it is not dried out and cracked. poles are there.

Yes, she sure is rough! Going to be a total rebuild. But we figure it's small enough for us to take a try, and it was free so we figured we'd put a little effort into it .
