My wife and I have taken the first step (plunge, leap, fall) and purchased a 1958 Aljo 15' trailer to restore. It needs a lot of work inside but the sheet metal is all in great condition, especially for being near 60 years old. My first question is if anyone knows what this model was called. I see the Sportsmans all over the web but am wondering if the other models had names. Looking forward to sharing and learning more. We live in Washington state and will be at the Roslyn Trailer Rally this weekend looking for more inspiration. Randy

Welcome from another Washingtonian! I love the lines on the trailer. Very, very mid century. Have fun this weekend, the weather should be great for a rally.

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't check back here till after we'd been to the rally but I did see your rig set up back in the corner of the field. Beautiful camper and truck. This was our first rally and man, what a nice bunch of folks. Everybody was so low key and welcoming. We hit the Roslyn farmers market on Sunday before heading home and all in all had an excellent weekend.

Stupid Truck threw a fit on the way home; running rough in the stop and go freeway traffic. Crazy, all the way from Roslyn to Seattle...
33K miles and has to go in for a check up. Grrrr.

Hey Randy I saw your posting about your 58 Aljo- I have a 59 Sportsman. I am looking for some pics so that I can find parts on ebay. The door knob for one. Mine is also missing the stove. I will have to do a complete skin off restoration- my metal is all perfectly fine but the wooden interior is in pretty bad shape. Since it seems pictures are difficult on this site it would be great if we could exchange pics and info by email. If you can- email me your pics at dylankeel@gmail.com. Cant wait to see yours- I haven't found any like mine yet and the earliest sportsman I have seen was a 63. Mine is sleeps 3, has a toilet and no shower. Thanks!
