I always knew that you have to be careful on Craigslist, but I was surprised to see the scammers posting vintage trailers for sale. I actually played along with the one guy for a while, just to see where it would lead. Sure enough, he said he doesnt have access to the trailer, but we could have my funds deposited into an "ebay" account, he would then ship the trailer and if I was satisfied, only then would the funds be released to him. The trailer in question was a nice round $2000 for an 81 Serro Scotty. It makes me wonder if the same guys posted the ads for this Shasta. I see this exact 69 Shasta posted no less than 8 times in 8 different areas of the Country I hope it's ok posting thesee links. Just want others to be aware. It's a shame people feel the need to scam others Link1 Link2
I have to admit, I got excited when I first saw the trailer, until I saw it posted over 1/2 dozen times, and all with different phone numbers

A Casita scam got me interested in trailers in the first place. Any time they talk about escrow accounts, run.

Danrhodes, I think I remember that one, was it about 3 or 4 years ago? I remember a Casita with a really low price, looked like new and posted in several cities at the same time. Same here, it was what got me seriously on the hunt for a trailer.
I have to say that I've had good experiences with C-list, but I'm very careful about how I go about it. Most recently, I found a guy who exchanged the hybrid battery on our Prius. He has been a Toyota trained technician for 11 years and does this on the side. He came to us with a reconditioned battery, did the switch and drove around with me for about an hour monitoring on a laptop. Warranted for 2 months. Toyota dealership had told us that the car needed $4500 in just parts, including 2 computers, hybrid battery and auxiliary battery. I didn't buy that since the car had been fine one day and all warning lights on the next. He charged $650 installed. Time will tell, but the car is running like a sewing machine on the "dead" computers after 2 weeks so I'm optimistic.
