A Hagarty representative was at the rally in Petaluma band said that they were going to start covering vintage trailers in Jan 2018. That's interesting news. I have three cars insured with Haggerty, (which disallows towing). I recently renewed and had a conversation about insuring vintage travel trailers and was told there was no plans to do so in the near future. I think I'll call again.

That is terrible, the whole thing of it. estimaters included. The old guy seems like the one to go with. I believe that I`d want to be there through every bit of the repairs. Just in case there`d be some unforeseen damages that needed deeper attention whilst it was still apart.

This agent has arranged insurance for a couple of our members at an "agreed upon value" through Progressive. I just had an appraisal done on our camper and I'm calling them Monday. www.fcisinsurance.com/

Apparently Vintage Camper trailers has been talking to them about the need. We talked to the rep and answered his survey questions.

This is one of the best reasons to document the build of your vintage trailer. Photos, perhaps some videos and a log or blog. It will help any appraiser or insurance company come up with an appraised value of the trailer. When it's the other guy's fault you will need that.

I've got plenty of pictures and a 2" stack of receipts. The labor would be the most expensive part of my build. Still waiting on their insurance, apparently they still haven't been able to contact their client.

Still waiting on their insurance, apparently they still haven't been able to contact their client. The old "We can't contact our client" BS run-around. Their "client" is required to contact the insurance company immediately when an accident happens. So that's the first line if BS you are coming across. How much you want to be the other party was texting when he hit your camper?

I think he probabily was and saw the cars in the center turn lane go out of the corner of his eye and went without really looking up.

That's a bummer, but at least everyone is OK. Their insurance should pay for a rental?

Lady was sitting in the left turn lane in her Honda looking at her cell phone. The cars next to her got the green light and began to move. So she started to turn left...... Right in front of me and I was driving a one ton truck... Guess who won that one. Luckily I was able to swerve just enough to keep from killing her passenger who just happened to be her insurance agent LOL.... They had to be towed. I drove away with $2500 in damage.
