Has anyone ever restored/rebuilt old vintage window blinds? The blinds in the 47 Mainline are very unique in design in as much as they are very simple in construction and use. I would like to restore them and was wondering if anyone who sews well has attempted this process before...

It's been a few years since I've done it, but they used to (and maybe still do) make the material in a pre-maid form that holds the blinds. It came in a roll and we would just cut off the length that was need. It was actually very easy once you did one. You just have to mirror each side so they work correctly. I'll look and see if I can find the roll and put a pic up to see if we are talking about the same thing.

Thanks and I'll be waiting for your photo and maybe a link where I can get the stuff.

I couldn't find the stuff, but I did a search and found that it is called Fabric cloth tape for blinds, or Cloth ladder tape. Fixmyblinds.com was one of the sites I found. Just do a google search to research the best price. Good Luck!
