So besides the one on Facebook, has anyone ever seen a 1953 Viking trailer? Or does anyone have one? I found one in rough shape, that can be used for a template to rebuild from the frame up. But what would it be worth, realistically. Only one I found is 25,000. Any insight on this would be great. Oh, and I might get it for free, not counting transport.

Hmm. Hamlet's lady person is a 1953 Viking. Well, my parents were both Norskies. I've had a partial rebuild over the past few years, but I don't think it'd help a lot for your trailer rebuild. Good luck! Oh, and pictures, even of one in rough shape would be fun for this Viking.

Free is good. I like that price. I guess to me, I could never put a value on My trailer so I just do not know how much it would be worth on the market. Whatever price it might bring, it would be worth a whole lot more to Me just to keep and enjoy it. if Vikings { Not Norsemen LOL } are that rare then I`d suspect that it would be worth a whole lot more than My Home made camper.

Free IS good, but it can wind up costing an awful lot of money! ;-)

I'm kinda thinking if it can be rebuilt for 4-5 k and is worth 10-15k, it might be worth the investment.

The 25K unit is in my backyard in MN. it is a Jerry Hienz built trailer out of FL. and has languished on CL in Minnesota for about a year. The interior looks great but I would want fresh skin for 25K . I hope this is not a VTT members trailer! I trying to be nice. Sale prices mean what the trailer SOLD for. Asking prices are not indicative of worth... I think a full rebuild (very nice quality but not show quality) might bring 10K if a person is lucky.
Also, take into consideration what people are looking for. If it's a canned ham and little, they want cute, real wood and sound for less than 10K.
When a trailer goes higher than that, most people will pay to get a nice Spartan, a Boles Aero, a vintage 'Stream, etc. Some of the higher end trailers back in the day are sought after and do bring the money. 40s trailers are also popular.
In other words, a trailer that is bigger, average age (say early 60s) and not pristine is going to go for less than a cute ham or an in charge Spartan. Make sense?
