Hi friends,
Which roof vent style vents heat better?
The duel lifter Hehr vent style or the more modern single lifter style with a hand crank knob?
Lets keep any motorized fans like the Fantastic Fan out of the discussion.
Thanks,
Rod

I like the HEHR style, that way, no matter which direction the breeze is coming from it will evacuate the heat. If there is no breeze, it lets the heat escape in all directions. JMO

Hey Mr Marti,
Thanks for the response. I thought that because the Hehr roof vent only lifts up a few inches above the roof, it was limited in it's ability to dissipate heat. I know from my 85 pop up which has the more modern twist knob crank that lifts the roof vent at a steep angle, that I can feel the heat leave when it's opened - figuring that the additional angled roof lid allowed more heat to escape straight up than the Hehr.
BTW, I haven't been in a trailer with a Hehr roof vent set up to maximum.

My way of thinking, with the angled vent, if the camper is facing the wrong direction and the breeze or wind is coming from the way the open end of the angled vent lid is facing, it could have the capability to drive the hot air back into the camper. I guess though that if the windows are open, it might push the hot air out through those. I think that with the HEHR style vent lid, with it lifted evenly, it would actually have the capability to draft the air out. The HEHR vents can also be set at an angle too, although it would not be opened as far as the angled vent.
