For some reason I keep getting certificate errors when I am in here, I always have to click the "show all button." I was using IE 9 on this old Vista computer, I downloaded a new internet browser called Lunascape, it is a lot faster but I`m still gettng the certificates error.

No problems using IE either. Not sure what version IE I am using though it should be no older than a year.

The problem with the Windows Vista and Chrome is that M.S. is no longer supporting Vista and Chrome will not run on it due to that fact. I did find that if I click the "View Certificates" that I have an option to install certificates from some sort of a certificates store so we shall see how that goes. It might be that if I can install certificates that I can go back to IE. One other problem is that it has a menu appear at the top of the page about unsafe content display. I right click that and select the view content and then it seems to run okay for a little while then, I have to do that action again.

No problems here using Chrome... No problems using IE either. Not sure what version IE I am using though it should be no older than a year. Yeah, this IE is version 9. I think the newer version is like 11 or 12 or some such. Win10 I believe runs a far different version of IE, I dont remember its name but it is more of an APP than a program.

Hi vikx. I guess a new thread should have been started about IE problems or some such. Sorry about the hijack. If You could, maybe this could be all moved to its own thread. Might be some that find this information useful in solvint their IE problems.
Now that I found out about installing certificates I might go back to IE and see how that goes.

I use Mozilla Firefox on everything including old and new computers in my system. Oldest running vista, others run windows 7 pro, windows 8.1, and windows 10. I have no problems on any. I IE needs a lot of memory and a fairly fast processor to run right.

I IE needs a lot of memory and a fairly fast processor to run right. I dont know what is going on with this computer. Windows Vista, 64 bit, two core two duo processors, four gigs of ram. I tried FireFox and it was working well for quite a while then it too started giving Me all sorts of problems with having to shut down. I am constantly getting this "Internet Explorer has stopped responding and will shut down". It then proceeds going through this report thing and sending the report to MS, shuts down then reopens. I know I have no viruses or bugs of any sort, I have a very good protection product installed that flows seamlessly with the windows defender. Also i have scanned the computer in safe mode to be sure there is nothing amiss. After several instances of the shut down while trying to view the forum, it sort of takes the enjoyment out of the experience. I think I have the thing with the certificates figured out, by clicking the view certificates then click the get certificate, or whatever it is button. It then installs the certificates and proceeds on. Sometimes there will need to be six or eight certificates installed just to get to one page but after doing that many times it is getting to where I can view the pages without having to go through that so much. I`ll keep poking along and see what happens. LOL

I'm getting the small i in a circle without the http on the url bar. So far nothing has gone awry, but would like to solve this. I'm running chrome with no problems except the i.
My old laptop running 7 is dying and won't load pages, etc. (also has physical issues, including broken hinges) I'm guessing Vista is your problem. Once the OS gets old and is no longer supported, all sorts of weird things happen.

I`ll do a little research and see what I can find out about that.

About the small i in google chrome. I did do some reading. It appears that the small i means that the website is not secure, as in an https web site. Here is the page that I found explaining about it. It seems that some people are having more issues with it than others. Here is the linkMaybe try this Lunascape browser. I was not sure about it at first. I did some trimming on it and now I am really liking it. Also, it works well with older versions of windows. It can be had here. link

Thanks Marty.
It seems this is a new Chrome thing. I've had it pop up in my email as well but if I reload it disappears... Odd.

That is odd vikx. Reading through some of the info in that thread, only the web sites that are secure doesn't show that small i. I wonder why it would not show on a reload ? Strange days indeed. LOL
