So me and the wife both have the same opinion about our choice for countertops, but want the opinion of those who have a little more experience with these types of things. Neither one of us are interior decorators... not by a far stretch. Having said that, what fits better, and will look better? What would you choose? Blue or White? I'm with mel...Neither are particularly good with the floor. Blue and yellow don't look right and the white is just different enough to bug me. I also agree that color choices should be left up to you, which in my case means the wife picks.

My blue option was because we were going to work blue and yellow into everything else (curtains, sheets, etc). I might be making it more difficult to match that way though. We both thought the blue gave things a bit of a "pop", but wondered if others would wonder "what were they thinking"?
Thanks for all the help.

Personally speaking, I really love that blue. Too much of it could be pretty dark and confining in a small space like the Airflyte. The white wouldn't have that effect, would seem more open and airy. That being said, I think the "pop" of that blue mixed with different shades and some yellows also would be spectacular in the overall design. I am going to break from the crowd and vote blue here, in the vision of the whole decor.
Our Airflyte came with the yellow decor, and I have been planning to stick close to it when we rebuild. That butterscotch pattern would work well with an overall yellow design, if only our Formica were not still in such good shape!

Make the table top material into 6" squares and have both colors. LOL

Of just the two options, I too would vote white. The blue, though pretty and a nice POP of color, is a bit dark for such a small space. I would add your pops of color in pieces that aren't so permanent... like curtains. Once it's in there, if you hate the counter, it's a LOT of work to undo.

I agree with the others, neither the white or blue is quite right. Your flooring is beautiful and brings out the color of the wood beautifully. Unless you're stuck on the boomerang, you might want to look at the beautiful retro linen look that Formica makes..p. The light tannish color would work well, and your floor has enough blue tones that you could easily put just about any color blue in your accessories and it'd look fantastic. Also if you have a more subtle pattern on the countertops and sliders, you have a lot more flexibility in your decorative fabric choices. Best of luck!,,

I would love to see some of your other fabric choices to go with the yellow and blue theme. Making a mood board could possibly help with the decision. Just seeing them all together helps.
I am all for bold so go for it!

I made some purchases from Sherwin Williams. Along with that I get some emails from them. In the email I got today I found this color visualizer program. You might give it a try. Here is the link. Click the CLICK

I Love bold colors and I love that blue. With the right fabrics you could tie it in with the flooring but like theresa pointed out, the countertop when done, is a done deal. But I think you need to make it "yours" if you love that blue you can make it work. For me the white would just be drab, aside from the fact that it's a little off. Would love to see your other fabrics, etc.
