Because our Argosy was bought from the original owners we got the original title from 1978 (not a '77 title because it wasn't paid off until the following year). When the PA company went to notarize the purchase she was amazed at the condition of the title, the year of the title, and wondered how to fill it in as they have changed so much over the years! She also thought it was cool that her name got to be a part of history.

That is neat. I hope you made a photocopy of the title, to save it for posterity!

That's pretty cool....I know what you mean, I bought my 78 blazer (my tow vehicle) from the original owners last year and they had the original title and all the original paperwork and receipts since new...so cool to look through all that stuff!

I made a discovery a few years back went to sell a vehicle to a gentleman from California I had the original yellow title that Ohio issued if the vehicle was owned free and clear no loans against it. We filled out the transfer info on the back of the title and had a notary stamp it. When we stopped at the registration office to by a temp tag, they told us under new laws that title would be no good out of state so we had to go to the clerk's office and they issued him a new title that was white and acceptable in California. Then when he got home he went to AAA and got a California title and didn't have to pay California sales tax because it was all ready his, from what he said that saved him a bunch of money.
