I just bought a 1971 Lark camping trailer and am trying to hook up the drinking water line, but can't figure out how to attach the hose. The connection coming out of the trailer looks like a nub with a mesh tip at the end that juts out 2-3 inches. I bought a standard marine water line hose, but it looks I need some type of adapter to make the connection. Does anyone know what this is?

I wish I could add the photo, but it only lets me add an image from the internet here. There's no way to upload from my computer, at least that I can see.

Unscrew the item in the hose fitting. Other than that, it looks like a standard city water inlet. You'll probably need a new hose washer. Also, most trailers should have an RV water regulator to keep the pressure down. Available at Walmart, it will reduce the pressure to 45psi on your water lines and fixtures.

Looks to me like a quick-connect fitting that is screwed into the hose fitting on the trailer. Did it some with the water hose with it, and maybe the other part of the quick-connect is still on the hose? Vikx is correct, this should just unscrew from the brass and then the male hose end will just screw into it.

Thanks! It was just a quick connect on it. I was able to unscrew it and attached the hose I bought. I also bought a water regulator just in case. I appreciate the advice.
