Hi, I don't have it yet but have bought a restored 1968 Shasta Compact. The restorer left as much vintage as he was able, the PO had changed a few things and I plan to replace what I can. It won't be a 100% vintage look, but enough to retain the "flavor". A lot of what I want to find out concerns the flooring, Formica, sink etc found in the Shasta's of that year. The restorer did a gorgeous paint job, but I'm beginning to think he used the wrong year for his guide. Nevertheless, it looks wonderful. Glad to find this group and I do admire those who are saving these great campers. Husband and I lack the skills and space to even attempt a restoration. Pictures when my baby arrives!

Congrats on your new family member. I hope they provided you with lots of pics of the restore/rebuild so you know exactly what they did. The toaster style Compacts have had some beautiful re-do jobs, our faves are the ones that the new owners put birch paneling in, like the ham style ones. Gorgeous, not original, but gorgeous. We can't wait to see your pictures!

To Hamlet, Yes, they showed me restoration pictures and also explained what they (actually he) did. I'm thrilled to have the original stove, oven and refrigerator, also the flooring. The side walls were painted white, ceiling and front and back walls are original. The walls are actually an unattractive panelling, so I'm not sad about the white paint. But hubby suggested hunting down the panelling and replacing it. The table was in the camper but I doubt it's original, being a gray marble pattern with a drop leaf, pedestal style. Two of the lamps are original, will be searching for the rest.
Awaiting arrangements to transport it.😃
