I'm surprised I haven't heard any mention of Rub n Buff before for those of you trying to replicate chrome on the interior of the camper: It's a Pinterest favorite, which admittedly kept me away for a while. But my light fixtures were too far gone I decided to be trendy and turn them brass. Spray paint wasn't looking too good: So bought a little tube of Grecian Gold Rub n Buff and am really impressed with the results! I admittedly should have sanded better (er, at all) before I "rubbed n buffed," but it does really look like metal. And they have a silver version which apparently a lot of model makers use: You could never get a mirror finish, but I think it looks pretty great. That being said, I have no clue how well it'll hold up and I assume it's more for decorative pieces than something like a drawer handle. It dries really well and I'm not able to scratch it off with my fingernail. I'll be the guinea pig I guess!

Thanks... I have one light fixture that has bad spray paint on it. I am going to strip it and this may be a good fix.

Thanks... I have one light fixture that has bad spray paint on it. I am going to strip it and this may be a good fix. I'm no expert since this was my first try with the stuff, but I think the fact that I had spray paint underneath helped. I sprayed first with that "antique brass" rustoleum. So any spots that didn't get totally covered with the rub n buff at least looked OK. Though my guess is if I did a third coat there wouldn't be any paint showing.
