Are these original to my 1972 Shasta 1400 or are they add ins? I really don't care for them but trying to decide if I want to keep them and paint the exteriors or sell them and put up something else.

They look era correct to me... If you don't like the way they look you might try painting them. The more original you keep the trailer the more it is worth. Someone else out there is frantically searching Ebay for those LOL..

Would definitely paint them if I do I am not really attempting to keep it original. My dinette is long gone as is my lounge. I am putting a bed in the back that I don't have to put away and seating along each side with a table in the middle. So besides the front kitchen and cabinet it will not be the original floor plan. I am doing my own thing since this will be my home for a while.

They have a cool feel to them for sure, but in answer to your question, they are not original. The Shasta lamp of choice in 1972 was a gold-colored base and a white striped fiberglass shade. If you are going to make such drastic changes to the design, then pick out what you like. It is your trailer, do what you want to with it....

Another tell-tale they are not original might be the fact that they are pull chain activated. I think most sconces in Shastas of that era had top or in the base switches. I am just guessing about the '72 1400 since I have never actually been in one. Update: My friend Kelle at littlevintagetrailer has this 1972 1400 listed for sale. I think there are enough interior pics to get an idea about lighting. This one has two different (shade design) cone shaped sconces... littlevintagetrailer.com/2016/03/1972-shasta-1400-for-sale/

That is very similar to how I want to set mine up with the bed in the back and small dinette cushions and table in front of it.

It's hard to beat the front-kitchen design in these, and the one linked is laid out in what looks like a twist on the Compact layout. By the way, I saw the photos of yours, LittleRed, and it looks like someone has already redone the layout, so "changing" it is now not such a big deal, as most of what is there looks like it should come out. Putting it into this sort of configuration will give you lots of flexibility.

Yes the PO had shrunk the wardrobe cabinet back to even with the kitchen, left the kitchen alone thank goodness except I have no appliances, put a roll away bed in the back which will be easy to take apart and remove. I would use parts from it to build my permanent one but it is made of 2x4's and very heavy board on top with slide out drawers underneath. It is way too much wasted weight. I am building the wardrobe/refrigerator area back to original plus adding that small cabinet you see in your picture. I will then be doing the back similar to your picture above except with a round table in the middle with a sunken hole for the pole so that I can remove it when not in use and store it under the bed. It will be nice to have all the extra floor space with my service dog along all the time.
