I assume Vikx knows how to get it registered in WA which I would hope would transfer to CA. My only experience is reading others like mobiltec trying to register CA trailers without titles and it's not fun or cheap Yep I just did my first SALVAGE re-title. Boy was that fun. But I got it done so the 54 Lakewood is finally officially and legally mine. This was a "free" trailer that only cost me about $600 and about 40 hours time so far. Still cheap for what it is.

Ever buy one that is current out of state and reregister it here? Curious if it's easier for Pheribee to retitle in WA and then just transfer here?

She has bought two from out of state. In North Carolina it's much easier to register an untitled camper from out-of-state. Buy one in North Carolina without a title you're in for a world of pain. It all the depends on the rules in the state where you bought the camper. If they are lax about registration or title, you're golden. If you buy a camper from California and bring it to NC…ouch!

She has bought two from out of state. The one I bought in WA had a current registration, and tags on the plate, so it was easy and straight forward. If I recall correctly, the one from CO didn't have plates. The PO had pulled them to put on his next trailer (I think that was it, my memory is a little foggy.) But I know that I took the trailer, bill of sale, and title to the Colorado equivalent of the DMV, paid a nominal fee (maybe $15?) and received temporary transport papers. Those got taped in the back window and that's what I towed it home with. Then went to the CA DMV with all of the same paperwork and filed for a title and registration. Both were pretty easy. SaveSave

Most of my trailers go to California. (they must like the sun) Anyway, there's never been a problem getting them titled in Cali. Just pay the fees and off you go. None have had current registration and used a trip permit on the road. Some were not in my name, just the signed title from the PO.
If I remember correctly, the Cardinal (Wisconsin) was licensed and registered before they picked it up. I sent the title to them about 6 weeks before the pick up.
No comment on Pheribee's visit today. I'll let her fill you in...

And WE had so much fun today! Pheribee is having minor surgery (converter and Wave 3) and then will make her happy trip home.
Needless to say, Pheribee (the lady) got an education today: the good, the bad, and the UGLEE...

Looks like a great trailer that doesn't need a complete tear down like mine . Have fun in her and treat her right.

Congratulations!

Looks pristine, must be an vikx. What was the verdict on towing with the Escape... Did you test tow it around town to see how it pulls?

Did a bunch more nitpicks today to make the Kit perfect. Lots of Fun and interesting. We are still considering shipping/towing options. Pheribee has to be safe!

Oh my gosh, congratulations and what a nice trailer!
That is the paint job I was thinking of doing for my Silver Queen (if I don't strip the paint and polish it)... She is the SILVER Queen after all.
Way to go buyer and resurector! if that's a word),
