Has anyone found any wood filler to match amber shellac? I have a few holes in the paneling I would like to fill, from the PO screwing things into the walls.

Sometimes it is better to just cover those holes with another something like the PO had. Really hard to make them look like they aren't there. Also regarding shellacking inside of closets, I did, but did not take quite as much care with how it looks. One advantage is that shellac seals in any bad odors, like mousy,or mildew. I used polyurethane varnish and / or paint on the floors of the cabinets & closets in case of spills of stuff containing alcohol which is a solvent for shellac.

I drilled through the rear panel during reconstruction and will be trying a wood filler (tbd) this week. I agree that getting a perfect match is tough but if the hole is too big for a screw, there is not much choice.

Cherry wood putty is close to amber shellac.
