Do you guys sand and shellac inside of the closet? also on back sides of doors?

Like teachndad, I've done it but without laboring over it too much. When there are water stains (repaired behind) I've done an opaque stain.

I left my closet original because it still looked decent and I wanted to remember the original finish. But I'm just strange.

I didn't bother doing the inside, but feel at least one coat might have helped encapsulate odors and protect the wood. Some of the old wood I reused does still hold onto the smell from the dozens of chinese herbs found hidden in the kitchen cabinets.
