I bet that got your attention! Actually I have someone coming on Sunday to buy my little Project trailer which has the j-rail off and the seam open on one side. I want to help them seal and secure it as well as possible as they are coming from another province and we are having a lot of rain. I was thinking of duct taping the seam and then roping down a layer of clear plastic, but I've never done this before. Oh the irony... I'm actually duct taping a trailer!
Advice on preparing it for the move in a rain storm?

In my small brain I actually think it may be your best option, duct tape. Or maybe some way to tarp it really good although very hard and not fool proof. About the only case (you hope) where you may use duct tape!

It sure got my attention!!
I think duct tape will be fine if they remove it and store the trailer indoors as soon as they get home. The trouble is, if duct stays for any length of time, the sticky part stays on the trailer and is so not fun to remove...
Wrapping in plastic is not a good idea because it will flap in the wind, beating the heck out of the tarp and trailer. Something heavier may work, but I've never done it. Shipping companies may have some ideas for you, too.
Glad you found it a new home. NOW you can look into that canned ham...

The last one I brought home I used gorilla tape on the lose seams, just a few pcs. on each and it stays on in the rain better than duct tape. But def. has to come off soon due to the residue. We towed one in bad shape once and shrink wrapped it, I know a couple other's here have done that as well. Works great!

Ah, yes. Gorilla is far superior. It is what keeps our car's front and rear plastic bumpers and wheel well inserts from falling off. I think it has been almost three years! The brown color does clash a bit with the silver paint though, unlike silver "duck" tape.

Pretty sure some of the Glamping ladies online have rolls of leopard and zebra tape available! lol

Thanks for the advice. It's turns out they are coming today to get it. It's pouring rain here. I have told them to pick up a tarp, gorilla tape etc.

Well it's gone! Very hard for me to sell something half completed, but I was completely honest with them in detail about needed repairs and so they know what's involved.
Now onto my Golden Falcon. My adults sons are heading over tommorow to help me get her into the car dealership garage. The reason there are so few trailer restorers up in Canada where I live is that we get five months of sub zero temperatures then a summer of 85-90 degree heat. The only way to really do it successfully is indoors. I'm very thankful we have a space I can work in even if it's a little crowded with auto junk at times.
