I swear this trailer was on the road to Bodie. If so, it's gone now.

I used to go campimg with friends years ago at Grant Lake every year, on the BLM side. I have no idea how he got his old trailer back there in one piece, but he had a great set up. That is a really fun area to explore. I miss it.

Bob used to spend about 6 weeks there in July and August. He took his aluminum boat for trolling, and we fished with bobbers onshore (lazy fishing with a rod holder, chairs and a good book - hoping nothing took the bait, lol). My husband and I would hit the creeks and do some spin casting. He'd try some fly casting once in awhile, but I never got the hang of it. They were both good fishermen. I miss those days. I have photos somewhere, I will have to scan them, you'd all like the look of Bob's old Boles!

Waay off topic, here's a pic of the '73 Airstream taken in 2004 on upper Bishop Creek - I had a digital camera by then!

Bob and his Boles. Not the most picturesque lake, but he was allergic to insect stings, so staying away from trees, and camping where he could catch a breeze was perfect. And on the east side of the lake, free BLM land. Bob had boon docking down to a science!

Mobiltec, its intereting what there is in the Salton Sea like that video you posted of it here. One of the guys taking photos of the old trailers saw a really old one and thought it may be a Spartanette, but I really believe it was an early 50s Alma.. it had the trademark crooked wheel well shape. Really cool.

A friend of mine took this photo a few years ago at the Salton Sea. I think he said it is gone now. He sells it as a card, it is very popular.

I'm leaving for CA tomorrow to visit relatives near Lake Tulloch and will be stopping in Virginia City and whatever we find in the Gold country along the way. Not bringing the camper.
