So I ordered the 8ft 3/4 trim from VTS for my wings, it worked great. I decided to google the brand off the label to see if anywhere else sells it, and sure enough Home Depot pops right up. I had read a thread from a few years ago saying home depot sells it and I had searched their website and went to the store and talked to employees with nothing coming up. But here it is, for cheaper and free store pickup. Just thought I would share Im going to keep searching to see if I can find a 12ft piece from HD www.homedepot.com/p/MD-Building-Products-96-in-Decorative-Aluminum-Edging-A811-for-3-4-in-Material-Thickness-in-Polished-70409/204955706Not sure if that link is working for you, when I click it it goes right to the home depot home page which is strange. If it doesnt work for you, go right to home depot website and type in the little search bar "Aluminum Edging A811" Here is the label off the VTS trim

Good finds.
MD = Macklanburg Duncan.
Keep in mind for countertops, if you are laminating over 3/4" plywood you will need 13/16" edging.

LOL the new plywood thicknesses are smaller than the normal ASE measured thickness they used to make. So now it already comes in 13/16 inch thickness. I guess they were thinking of us when they did that? LOL... Thanks for the links Mel. I searched and searched for the metal cove molding and talked to the manager at our local HD and nothing. Your link isn't taking me to the cove molding though. Could you provide a product number for me?

I don't know what kind of plywood you use, but the ACX plywood I just used to make my countertops is a full 3/4". With the laminate top the 13/16" edge trim was a perfect fit. I'll amend what I said earlier to check the thickness of the plywood or whatever substrate you are using and get the appropriate thickness edge trim.

Just to clear up some confusion many ppl have about plywood thickness, here's what I know. As an ex cabinet maker, I use both plywoods that are 3/4 and 11/16. the reason there are different thicknesses is bc some are manufactured over seas, many specifically china and are built to metric standards. if you purchase a domestic made plywood, it will usually be a true 3/4" thick. much of the china birch for instance, which are imported in enormous amounts, often measure 11/16 or 11/16 + 1/32, depending on the chinese manufacturer. I've made cabinets for many years, on only a couple times have purchased from hd or lowes bc they are more expensive and usually don't care the correct domestic species i'm looking for. domestic 3/4 ply equals 19 mm and imported 3/4 ply is usually 18 mm +/-.
