Most of my putty tape came off decently but there is still just a tiny bit left on and I am having trouble getting it off. What does everyone use just? and your technique?
All my windows putty tape was still nice an playable none was dried out. I was very surprised.

I've also used mineral spirits but only on residue. The chunks need scraped off first. Butyl Tape should be called Brutal Tape. It tortures me going on and tortures me coming off.

Thanks guys, I scraped all the big chunks off and only have a tiny bit on, so off to get mineral spirits I go.

I like good old fashioned turpentine. It still might kill me, but it smells pretty nice. Turpentine and Scotchbrite pads removed almost all of the PO'S silver slop, glop and other "protective coatings". Lots of elbow grease, but worth the effort in the end.

This should be renamed the Vintage Toxic Forum.
